The January full moon is known as the Wolf Moon. Being the first full moon of the year, it is an excellent time to focus your intention and energy on new beginnings. The Winter Solstice has passed and we are getting a little more sunlight every day, giving us glimpses of what is on the horizon and the changes to come. However, we are still deep in the energy of Winter. Winter can be tough. It can feel dark and lonely. But it is also the time for going inward. For retreating, resting, and listening to that stillness so the true hummings of your dear heart can be revealed. Winter is the birthplace of transformation and evolution. For example, after we plant a seed deep in the earth, on the surface of the dirt we see absolutely nothing happen for quite some time. But deep in those rich fertile soils inside the belly of that seed, it is getting ready. It is taking in the nutrients and energy it needs to one day soon burst forth through the earth. You are that seed! Take this time to gestate. Nurture and care for yourself. Curl up with a cup of tea and a good book. Light a candle and write a love letter to yourself. If something feels hard, and you feel sad and you want to cry, let it go. The Wolf Moon is named after the sound of wolves howling at the moon in the depths of Winter. This action is a good reminder that releasing through sound, whether it be howling or crying, is an important part of letting go. This Full Wolf Moon is let go of what is no longer serving you. Release yourself of any expectation you have of doing and let yourself be loved for just simply being. When we let go, we make space for what is new and what can serve us. New Beginning are coming. Remember that the shadow exists only because there is light. And that light is right around the corner.
